Get your chapter organized for the year ahead with a Summer Officer Planning
Session!
Meeting Objective: To set goals and develop a calendar of
events.
Materials Needed: Blank 2007-08 calendar, Dates
and Deadlines, your school's 2007-08 Calendar, a Chapter
Resource Packet and the Five
Star Chapter Development Program Guide.
1. Start
by entering dates of your school events, regional events and international
events on your Chapter Calendar. Don't forget to include deadlines for
registrations and scholarship and award entries!
2. Review
or set your chapter's Five Star Chapter Development Program goal and choose
activities to reach that goal. Ideas for Honors
Study Topic and International
Service Program activities can be found online. Be sure to also
review the Program Guides in the Chapter Resource Packet and the Hallmark
Awards Resources online.
3. Enter all activities
required to achieve your Five Star Program Goal on your chapter calendar,
and create a timeline for planning each event.
4. Decide if any
committees should be created to assist in particular areas, and make sure
each officer knows which events and activities are his or her responsibility.
