Alabama Chapter Proves It's Easy Being Green
The Alpha
Sigma Beta Chapter at Northwest Shoals Community College in
Alabama recently hosted an environmental symposium entitled, "It's
Easy Being Green." The objective of the program was to raise environmental
awareness among high school students in the community. Over 300 students
from nine area high schools participated in the symposium and even planted
27 trees around the campus. Each student left with an "It's Easy to be Green"
t-shirt and a small tree to plant.
Virginia Chapter Makes
a Difference to Local Children
The Beta Zeta Upsilon Chapter
at Tidewater Community College - Norfolk Campus in Virginia
has been busy mentoring the youth of the Kids of Incarcerated Parents organization.
The chapter organized a service opportunity for the kids at a local nursing
home. The youth cleaned flower beds, replanted flowers, and cleaned around
the nursing home. The extra flowers were then taken and planted around town.
The chapter has also been working with Virginia Mentoring Partnership
to provide mentorship training for the young people of KIP Care.
