Chapters at Des Moines Area Community College in Iowa have pledged to start
the process of truly greening the college and actively involving all members
of their college community in the Honors
in Action process. They have developed a website to highlight
their work and encourage participation and are in the process of applying
for a grant that will match the $20,000 already committed by the college
for the projects. The chapters see education as the key to long-term Honors
in Action success. This first year, chapters will focus on recycling activities,
next year they will focus on energy efficiency, and the following year's
