2005 Nota Bene Author
Des Moines Area Community College, West Des Moines, Iowa
On Nota Bene:
"I was thrilled when I learned that 'Buying Life' was selected for
publication. Nota Bene is one of the most far-reaching markets in
which my fiction has appeared. It's an excellent credit that I hope will
lead to more success as I grow as a writer. I encourage other Phi
Theta Kappa members to take advantage of this opportunity. Look
to your chapter advisors as a resource for help and encouragement."

Chapter Advisor
Columbus State Community College, Columbus, Ohio
On the Five Star Chapter Development Program:
"Three words come to mind when I think about our chapter's
success in reaching our Five Star Goal: Determination, Innovation,
and FUN! Each year students are enthusiastic about setting a goal
and seeing it through to the end. Through the Five Star Chapter
Development Program, we have developed a great support network
of students, public safety, faculty, staff and our college president."

2005-06 Chapter President
Florida Community College, Kent Campus, Jacksonville, Florida
On Good as Gold Week:
"Advance planning is key to the success of Good as Gold Week
activities. The additional new member orientations we held on
Pinnacle Gold Day last year resulted in 30 additional students
accepting membership! We also reached out to our college, hosting
a scholarship workshop with speakers from the financial and
scholarship offices, and delivering hand-made goody baskets to the
departments which support Phi Theta Kappa throughout the year."

Co-President & Vice President of Leadership
Wayne Community College, Goldsboro, North Carolina
On Operation Green: Improving Our Communities:
"We have already begun working with Keep Wayne County
Beautiful, our local Keep America Beautiful affiliate. The
International Service Program fulfills our desire to work with other
educational institutions and to educate younger people. As we move
into working with the schools in this area, we hope to help kids
understand why they need to properly dispose of used materials."
