Go for the Bronze, Silver or Gold in 2004

January 1, 2004, marked a new year for the Pinnacle Scholarship Awards Program. While the program's mission remains the same, the levels of recognition within the program will receive new names in 2004.

The program is designed to encourage chapters and regions to effectively communicate the benefits of membership to all eligible students. Program success is measured by the increase in number of members reported to Phi Theta Kappa Headquarters during the calendar year.

Successful chapters and regions receive a variety of recognition including congratulatory letters, certificates of accomplishment, cash scholarships and trophies, depending on the level of success achieved.

The Pinnacle Scholarship Awards Program began in 2001 by recognizing chapters that increased the number of new members reported by 10 percent over the previous year and those that inducted at least 90 percent of eligible students at their college. The program also recognized regions that increased the number of students inducted throughout the region by 10 percent over the previous year.

In 2003, the program was enhanced with three levels of recognition for chapters and regions. These enhancements provided more opportunities for recognition. Over $70,000 in Pinnacle Scholarships has been distributed to chapters and regions that met their membership recruitment goals in 2003!

Beginning in 2004, the levels of recognition will remain the same, but the names identifying each level will change to more clearly identify the progressive levels of achievement.

Enroll now. Chapters and regions must enroll annually to be eligible for recognition in the program. Visit www.ptk.org/pinnacle/chapennform.htm for chapter enrollment forms and www.ptk.org/pinnacle/regennform.htm for regional enrollment forms.

Check your progress online. At www.ptk.org/pinnacle/progress/, chapter and regions can view their goals and monitor their progress throughout the year as they work to reach their goals.
