Enhanced eMembers Software Online
An enhanced version of eMembers is now available, offering several exciting
new features to the already popular membership reporting software! New
features include:
- Enhanced search capacity. eMembers offers advisors the ability to search
their membership by Social Security number and membership classification
(i.e. honorary members), in addition to induction date and name searches.
The software now displays directly on the screen detailed search results
for each record found.
- Improved importing. Importing information directly into eMembers from a
text file from your college registrar eliminates the data entry portion of
eMembers. New importing features include the ability to cross-reference
student records in your import file with Phi Theta Kappa's database to
quickly eliminate students who are already members. This feature could save
chapters significant time and money resulting from duplication in reporting
members.
- New payment option. eMembers now allows advisors to remit fees using an
American Express credit card in addition to MasterCard, Visa and Discover.
- Upgrade your current version of eMembers at
www.ptk.org/apps/emembers.jsp.
Attention Macintosh Users
Macintosh users may now enjoy the benefits of reporting inductees
electronically. eMembers for Mac allows advisors to upload a text file
of inductees to Headquarters for processing into the official membership
database. Four easy steps is all it takes:
- Create your text file in an ascii comma-delimited format.
- Login to eMembers for Mac
using the login and password provided to you by Headquarters.
- Answer a few simple questions concerning member certificates and provide
payment information.
- Select the file to be uploaded and click Submit - it's that easy!
The eMembers for Macintosh Help Guide is now
available online. Contact Membership Services
Coordinator Julie Luckey at julie.luckey@ptk.org or
601.984.3557 for eMembers information.
Spring Recruitment - A Golden Opportunity
Spring is approaching and with it comes the time to recruit new members.
Phi Theta Kappa's Good as Gold visibility campaign gives chapters the tools
to make spring membership recruitment efforts their best yet! Information
about Good as Gold resources is available on the Chapter Resources DVD or
www.ptk.org/goodasgold/.
- Membership Benefits Brochures, available free of charge from Headquarters,
explain in detail the many benefits and honors associated with membership in
Phi Theta Kappa. Include brochures with your membership invitations.
The brochure may also be used as a poster to heighten awareness on campus.
- Good as Gold Posters depict the most valued membership benefits including the
membership pin, Honors Stole and Tassel and exclusive transfer scholarships.
- The Member Recruitment Video stars members, advisors and alumni who tell the
Phi Theta Kappa story in their own words and cite the transformational role
Phi Theta Kappa played in their lives.
- The Orientation PowerPoint should be used at orientations for prospective
members. This presentation ensures that chapters have the most current
information about membership benefits. An animated slide presentation
version is included on the Chapter Resource DVD and an editable version is
available for download from the website.
All you need, One location
Did you know that you could find help and advisor tools with just a click
of the mouse? One of Phi Theta Kappa's benefits to advisors is the Advisor
Corner found at www.ptk.org/advisor. A few of the resources you will
find here include:
- Invitation Letter Template. Not a writer? Don't worry. Download this
template and fill in your chapter's recruitment details, and with little
effort you'll have an outstanding new member invitation letter.
- Induction Ceremony Brochure Template. Download this template and customize
with your details and the program for your next induction ceremony will be
ready to print.
- Forms and Supplies. No more filling out paperwork to be mailed. Forms and
Supplies offers online options for everything from advisor updates to requests
for a list of members.
- Sample Chapter Bylaws. Having your chapter's current bylaws approved and
on file at Headquarters is a requirement for every Phi Theta Kappa chapter.
If your chapter needs to update the bylaws, this link provides guidance.
