Leaders of Promise - Scholarships for the Two-Year College

Think Phi Theta Kappa scholarships are only for those transferring to a four-year college? Think again. Phi Theta Kappa's Leaders of Promise scholarships provide financial resources for Phi Theta Kappa members while they are attending the two-year college. For the first time this year, the program will award 30 scholarships of $1,000 each to outstanding members. Previously, the program awarded only 10 scholarships of $500 each.

To be eligible, students must:

  • Be a Phi Theta Kappa member in good standing

  • Be enrolled at the community college at the time of application

  • Post a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application

  • Have completed no more than 36 semester hours of associate degree work as of January 31, 2004

  • Hold no associate or bachelor degrees

  • Enroll in 6 credit hours at a community college in Fall 2004

Part-time students, full-time students and international students are all eligible to apply provided they meet the aforementioned requirements. Applications are due at Phi Theta Kappa Headquarters by Friday, April 30, 2004.
