Carolinas Region Issues Golden Rings Challenge

In North Carolina and South Carolina, chapters are continuing the fight against cancer through the Golden Rings Challenge. The regional officers selected a project that would encourage the region to work together by participating in the International Service Program. Chapters were able to choose among five focus areas - Prevention, Fundraising, Service, Advocacy and Children.

While the International Service Program has four focus areas, the Carolinas Region added children as a fifth focus to build upon their 2003-04 regional service project for Camp Happy Days, a South Carolina camp children with cancer.

Through participation, chapters reach Golden Ring status according to the number of focus areas they implemented. For example, chapters who worked in all five focus areas will be recognized as a Five Golden Rings" chapter. Awards and recognition will be given during the Carolinas Regional Convention in March.
