Uma Vodoor
Chapter President, Brookdale Community College,
Lincroft, New Jersey
On Project Graduation:
"We turned our Project Graduation into Project Induction by asking the new inductees to bring in children's books and large print books at our last induction. We then donated the children's books to the Large Scale Service Project, where we helped build libraries for the needy children of St. Louis, Missouri. The large print books were donated to the residents of John L. Montgomery Nursing Home, where they brought hope and brightness to the residents' lives."

Laurie Roberts
Indiana Region Public Relations Officer, Ivy Tech State College,
Fort Wayne, Indiana
On the International Honors Institute:
I was the only member from my chapter to attend the 2004 Honors Institute. I felt it was extremely worthwhile because it gave me time to think in depth about the Honors Study Topic, meet new people, and travel outside of my comfort zone. As a regional and chapter officer, Honors Institute prepared me to help implement honors topic activities and explain the topic to others."

Orie Onchi
Pacific Region Service Chair, TransPacific Hawaii College,
Honolulu, Hawaii
On Fundraising:
"At my chapter we are making posters using newspaper clippings of real-life situations in places like Sri Lanka and Thailand. Then, we hang them from our necks to catch the attention of students and staff while attending classes. Since the total number of students is less than 300, it is possible to see most students and staff daily, and advertise the need for donations by walking around the campus. I think it is important to be creative and try new ways of fundraising. we never forget to show our appreciation to each of those who donate money."

William Johnson
Greater Northwest Region President, Pierce College,
Lakewood, Washington
On Increasing Membership Acceptance:
Our officers, members, and faculty have worked together to promote the benefits of membership in Phi Theta Kappa. It is through their enthusiasm and teamwork that our chapter has had continued success in recruiting new members. Chapter membership has tripled! With increased membership, we have been able to expand current activities and take on new endeavors further enrich our community, campus, and college experience."
