Case Study Challenge Awards Presented to Two Chapters, Two Members

Two Phi Theta Kappa chapters and two Society members received the 2004 Case Study Challenge Awards during the International Convention. Each winning entry received a $500 cash award, and may be accessed on the USA TODAY Collegiate website, www.usatoday.com/educate/college/student-home.htm.

Chapter winners include:

  • Beta Theta Omicron Chapter from Skyline College in San Bruno, California, for "Biotechnology and Human Welfare"
  • Nu Chi Chapter from Chipola College in Marianna, Florida, for "Stress: The Workforce Epidemic"

Individual awards went to:

  • Wanda Idelia Hamblen from Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City, Iowa, for "Individual Insurance."
  • Eric Erkenbrack from Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minnesota, for "Americans, the FDA, and Canada: Prescription Drugs and the New Drug Trafficking."

The Case Study Challenge is sponsored by USA TODAY. Annually chapters and members are invited to select a subject related to the current Honors Study Topic, and develop a case study from articles appearing in the print version of USA TODAY.
