Going Hollywood!

Phi Theta Kappa is taking you to the hub of American popular culture - Los Angeles, California - for the 2004 Honors Institute.

The Honors Institute is a six-day intensive examination of the 2004-06 Honors Study Topic, Popular Culture: Shaping and Reflecting Who We Are. Phi Theta Kappa members, advisors and alumni will convene in Los Angeles, California, June 28-July 3, to hear an exciting slate of speakers, to participate in special Institute events, and to enjoy the cultural attractions of the University of California-Los Angeles and the surrounding areas.

Leading academicians in the field of popular culture, a well-known television writer, a leading entertainment executive and a famous actor will address aspects of the Honors Study Topic from various interdisciplinary perspectives. Following each speaker's address, attendees will participate in seminar meetings to discuss issues raised in the preceding presentation. A trained Phi Theta Kappa Faculty Scholar will serve as a leader for each seminar.

In addition, Institute participants will take a group tour of Grauman's Chinese Theater, Hollywood's famous Rodeo Drive, and the world-renowned Getty Museum.
