Students Helping Students

The spring semester is now in full swing, and for most students throughout the country, it's back to the normal routine of tests and classes. However, for many two-year college students along the Gulf Coast, there is nothing normal about this semester. As students continue to put the pieces of their lives back together - and in some cases help to put their college back together - it is clear that the need for assistance is still great. Phi Theta Kappa's Students Helping Students initiative is a way your chapter can continue to help students affected by the 2005 hurricane season. Many chapters have already gotten involved, with donations now totaling over $35,000 to help these students stay in school, but more help is needed. For information on how to get involved with the Students Helping Students initiative, visit www.ptk.org/katrina, or contact Chapter Programs Coordinator Garon Tate at 601.984.3555.
