Books for Africa is one of the largest suppliers of textbooks to the African Continent. Since 1988, over 11.4 million textbooks have been delivered by Books for Africa. Better World Books is directly responsible for 80,000 books that have been sent to Africa, and raising over $400,000 to support Books for Africa. "The unrestricted donations and pledges by Better World Books to Books for Africa represent approximately 23% of our annual operating budget. We will have the capacity to ship hundreds of thousands of books to Africa as a direct result of this generous support by Better World Books," said Books for Africa Executive Director Pat Plonski.

Room to Read was founded in 1998 by former Microsoft executive John Wood, and focuses on the development of literacy frameworks in other countries. The organization is currently focusing on Southeast Asia, building schools, libraries, and language and computer labs. In addition, Room to Read also funds long-term scholarships for girls in these countries. Better World Books raised over $55,000 for Room to Read during their 2004 tsunami relief campaign.

National Center for Family Literacy was established in 1989 with the mission of creating educational and economic opportunities for at-risk children and their parents in the United States. Better World Books recently assisted the NCFL with their Hurricane Relief efforts by giving textbooks and money from online book sales directly to those affected by the hurricane.
