Phi Theta Kappa Members Named Jack Kent Cooke Scholars
Thirty-two members of Phi Theta Kappa are among the 38 recipients of 2006 Jack Kent Cooke Scholarships, one of the most prestigious and competitive scholarships available to undergraduates in America. This year's Scholars were selected from 676 nominees at approximately 438 two-year colleges nationwide.
The awards provide scholarships for transfer to four-year colleges and universities for completion of bachelor's degrees. The amount and duration of the scholarships varies by student, based on the cost of attendance and grants received, but each award may total up to $30,000 per year.
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program is the largest private scholarship initiative in United States history for community college students interested in pursuing four-year degrees.
