Have a Dynamic and Powerful Experience at the 2006 International Honors Institute!
The Honors Institute is a six-day intensive examination of the 2006-08 Honors Study Topic, Gold, Gods, and Glory: The Global Dynamics of Power. Phi Theta Kappa members, advisors, and alumni will convene in quaint Newark, Delaware, June 19-25, to hear an impressive slate of speakers, participate in special Institute events, and explore the cultural attractions of Delaware and neighboring areas.
Throughout the week, speakers will address topics such as U.S. imperialism, the power of the Religious Right, terrorism, economic globalization, gender and power in relationships, and the power of nonviolent protest to affect change. Each speaker's presentation will be followed by a Seminar Meeting, which is an intimate small-group discussion led by an experienced facilitator.
Institute attendees will take a field trip to historic Philadelphia to see the Liberty Bell and tour the National Constitution Center. Attendees will also have the option of performing in the Honors Institute Choir (always an Institute favorite) or giving a dramatic reading during Kappa Klatch.
On R&R Day, participants may visit the nation's oldest Amish settlement in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, tour the Gettysburg battlefields, or travel to Washington, D.C., New York City, or Baltimore.
The Honors Institute is a powerful experience you don't want to miss! The registration fee of $850 per person includes room, board, and tuition. Download a registration form online at www.ptk.org/honors/institute.
