Write Your Issue!
Do you have an opinion about the new Honors Study Topic or International Service Program? Let your voice be heard - Write Your Issue!
USA TODAY Education has launched a national initiative in partnership with FYI-Film Your Issue, inviting college students to write about their views on major issues for possible publication online and in the print edition of USA TODAY.
"Write Your Issue's goal is to actively engage young adults in public discourse on important topics," said Diane Barrett, Vice President of USA TODAY Education. "We want to provide both an incentive and platform for the campus community to share their views and help shape the national debate on issues."
From now until August 30, 2006, students may submit up to 500 words on any issue they desire. Phi Theta Kappa members are encouraged to share their thoughts on timely issues related to the Society's Honors Study Topic, Gold, Gods, and Glory: The Global Dynamics of Power, and International Service Program, Operation Green: Improving Our Communities.
Entries will be reviewed by USA TODAY staff members. Those that best articulate the subject matter will be published on the USA TODAY Collegiate website. Some entries will be submitted to the USA TODAY Editorial Board for consideration for publication on the editorial page of USA TODAY.
Participation is open to any U.S. resident at least 18 years of age. To submit an issue in writing, visit the USA TODAY Collegiate website at www.usatodaycollege.com.
