Advisor Retreats

Many of the Society's 2,665 dedicated advisors have been with Phi Theta Kappa for years, and in fact, 11% have been advising for more than a decade! However, at many chapters, the advisor turnover is more frequent, with 19% of the Society's current advisors having served for less than one year, and 62% for less than five years. In response, many regions are hosting advisor retreats. The objectives of these retreats are to:

  • Help new advisors learn about Phi Theta Kappa programs and the resources available.
  • Provide suggestions to help all advisors be more efficient and effective, so they can minimize the amount of time spent while maximizing the impact of their programs.
  • Renew and refresh seasoned advisors to help alleviate overload and burnout.
  • Provide opportunities for networking with other advisors within a region.
