Tell Us About It!
Phi Theta Kappa wants to hear from you! Chapters are invited to share their best practices for possible publication in the Society's print and online publications. It's a great public relations opportunity for your chapter, and sharing your story may help lead other chapters to success.
Submitting your chapter success story may be easier than you think. Simply log on to http://www.ptk.org/chapters/success.htm, and fill out a Best Practices Chapter Success Form to submit your story directly to Headquarters.
The Success Form allows chapters to submit tips for planning and implementation, information about resources, or event highlights and outcomes for any type of project. For example, the chapter at Macomb Community College in Michigan, revealed how their chapter started a library at a local school. Taking the idea off campus and into the community made their project a success. The chapter filled the new library with almost 2,000 children's books collected at a community health fair.
The Success Form is also a place to share with others the resources needed to tackle a new activity. The chapter at Cuyamaca College in California submitted their successful clean up of a local beach on Make a Difference Day. With trash bags, gloves and trash grabbers supplied at no cost by "I Love a Clean San Diego," 14 volunteers were able to clean up over 120 pounds of garbage and 25 pounds of recyclables in only three hours!
Best of all, the Success Form puts the spotlight on your chapter! The chapter at Austin Community College in Texas shared the outstanding results of their Voice Your Vote project. The chapter worked with their college to bring deputized voter registrars on campus, resulting in over 500 students from the school registering to vote.
