EmPOWERing Opportunities
Pre-Conferences
Chapter advisors and chapter and regional officers are invited
to take advantage of pre-Convention events providing specialized
instruction for Society leaders. There is no charge for the Advisor
Education Pre-Conference; registration is $75 for the Chapter and
Regional Officer Leadership Academies. The pre-conferences are
scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11.
Educational Forums
Phi Theta Kappa members and advisors attending the International
Convention will enjoy exceptional opportunities for instruction in Society
programs and personal and career development. More than 80 Educational
Forums, presented in five rounds, will be offered throughout the Convention,
ensuring that all participants may take advantage of seminars in a wide
range of subjects. Topics include Society program implementation, chapter
concerns such as member motivation and fundraising, scholarships and
transferring tips, and professional development issues such as preparing
resumes, interviewing and job searching.
Academic Marketplace
A highlight of every Phi Theta Kappa International Convention
is the action-packed Academic Marketplace! Shop for Phi Theta
Kappa merchandise, find unique Phi Theta Kappa items for sale
by chapters, meet International Officer candidates, and learn about
Phi Theta Kappa's Civic Engagement initiatives by visiting special
exhibits from Relay For Life, Project Graduation and USA TODAY.
Transfer College Fair & Career Fair
Considering transfer? The Transfer College Fair is your chance
to meet one-on-one with recruiters from four-year colleges and
universities offering thousands of dollars in transfer scholarships
exclusively for Phi Theta Kappans! Members may also attend
the Career Fair, a unique event bringing together members and
potential employers. Learn about job opportunities across the
country and receive advice on career planning, resume preparation
and interviewing skills from recruiters and human resource
professionals.
