More Scholarship Opportunities!

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is the largest offered in the United States to community college transfer students. Approximately 50 scholarships for baccalaureate studies - more than ever offered before - may be awarded in 2007. The maximum amount available per student is $30,000, covering tuition, living expenses, fees and books. Students must be nominated by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Faculty Representative at their institutions. Applications must be received by February 1, 2007, but most two-year colleges set earlier campus deadlines. Visit www.jackkentcookefoundation.org.

Each college campus may nominate two students for the 2007 All-USA Academic Team, which annually selects 60 of the nation's most outstanding two-year college students for First, Second and Third Teams of 20 members each. Access the All-USA Academic Team Scholarship Contacts list at www.ptk.org/schol/allusacontacts to determine the faculty member or administrator at your college responsible for coordinating the nominations. Nominations must be received by Phi Theta Kappa by December 1, 2006. Visit www.ptk.org/schol/aaat/announce.htm.

Downloadable applications for 2007 Guistwhite Scholarships are now available. A total of 20 scholarships of $5,000 each will be awarded to Phi Theta Kappa members to fund baccalaureate degree studies. Selection is based on academic achievement, demonstrated leadership and civic engagement. Applications must be received at Phi Theta Kappa Headquarters by 5:00 pm Central Time on December 1, 2006. The Guistwhite Scholarship Program is named for Dr. Jack Guistwhite and his wife Margaret Guistwhite, longtime supporters of Phi Theta Kappa. In 1975, when he was Director of Inter-Institutional Relations at Florida Atlantic University, Dr. Guistwhite established the first transfer scholarship offered exclusively to members of Phi Theta Kappa.
