This week-long exploration of the Honors Study Topic is enhanced by speaker sessions and panel presentations by noted lecturers, small seminar discussion groups, and interaction between participants.

Attention all regional coordinators, chapter advisors, members and college honors directors who wish to provide more opportunities for intellectual stimulation in your chapter and on your campus!

For several years, the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Study Topic has provided the issues for the National Collegiate Honors Council’s Satellite Seminar Series. Now expanding its partnership with NCHC, Phi Theta Kappa will coordinate the production of this exciting interactive teleconference in the fall of 2001. From the Mississippi Educational Television Studio in Jackson, five seminars will be broadcast to colleges and universities throughout the country on topics ranging from “The Marginalized Community” to “The Exploration of Community through the Arts and Humanities” to “The Future of Community.” All of the speakers are polished professionals with national reputations for scholarship. After an informative lecture, each speaker will invite questions from both the live audience in Jackson and the television audience.

Subscribers will receive planning packets to help organize discussions for honors classes, Phi Theta Kappa forums or community events. All subscribers also receive the right to make a copy of each seminar. Registration for the entire satellite teleconference series is only $350, if the form is received by May 15. Visit www.ptk.org/nchcss for complete program information, including a schedule, speaker biographies and an online registration form. To accommodate all downlinking capabilities, Phi Theta Kappa will broadcast the series in both C-band and KU-band. All questions about this exciting new venture can be addressed to nchcseminar@ptk.org or 601.957.2241, ext. 521.
