2003 Pinnacle Scholarship Award Program: New Enhancements, More Recognition

To encourage continued chapter and regional membership growth, new guidelines for the Pinnacle Scholarship Award Program have been established for 2003. Below is a quick review of the NEW Pinnacle Program, which provides even more recognition opportunities for chapters and regions that increase their membership over the preceding year.

  • Chapters that achieve at least a 10 percent increase in membership or who induct 90 percent of all eligible students will continue to be recognized as Pinnacle Scholarship Chapters and will receive a $100 scholarship and a certificate.

  • Chapters that meet this criteria for three consecutive years will now receive a special Pinnacle Continued Excellence Award during the International Convention in addition to the $100 scholarship.

  • Chapters that increase by at least one member over the previous year will also be recognized with a certificate and a letter from Executive Director Rod A. Risley to be sent to the chapter’s advisor and college president.

  • Chapters that meet the above guidelines will all receive Pinnacle ribbons for their chapter members’ name badges at the International Convention.

The new guidelines include enhancements for regional participation:

  • Regions that increase their membership by 10 percent will continue to receive a $500 scholarship and a certificate at the International Convention.

  • Regions that achieve a 10 percent increase for three consecutive years will now receive a $1,000 stipend and a special Pinnacle Continued Excellence Award during the International Convention.

  • Regions that increase their membership by at least one member over the previous year will now receive a $250 scholarship and a certificate.

These new guidelines were based on recommendations by the 2002-03 International Officers and approved by the Society’s Board of Directors. Scholarships awarded to chapters and regions may be used at their discretion.
