The DON’Ts of Fundraising

  • Don’t spend a large amount of money on your fundraiser.

  • Don’t count on the same members to do all of the work. Try asking inactive members to bring an item for your fundraiser.

  • Don’t step on another organization’s toes. Coordinate your fundraisers so that you do not interfere with another organization.

  • Don’t expect everything to fall into place overnight.

  • Don’t try to reinvent the wheel. Review fundraisers that have been effective in the past. You may also find a creative way in which to improve upon that particular fundraiser making it even more successful!
