Looking for Scholarships? Look No Further...

Money Available for Community College. Chapter leaders are encouraged to promote Leaders of Promise to new and prospective members. Eligible members can apply for one of ten $500 Leaders of Promise scholarships, which are used for the continuation of associate degree studies. Applications can be obtained in three ways including: 1) online at www.ptk.org/schol/leadpromise/, 2) through Fax-on-Demand by calling 601.984.3548 and requesting document number 9108, and 3) by mail by calling 601.984.3504, extension 566. Phi Theta Kappa members in good standing, enrolled in a community college at the time of application with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA on no more than 36 semester hours are eligible to apply.

State Academic Teams Celebrate Milestone. Inaugural All-State Academic Team programs in Mississippi and Missouri will celebrate 10 years at 2003 recognition ceremonies this spring. The number of All-State Academic Teams continues to grow with the addition of an All-Louisiana Academic Team this year bringing the total number of programs to 34. Currently $26 million is available for All-State Academic Team members in participating states. Students nominated to the All-USA Academic Team are automatically placed on their state’s All-State Team in states sponsoring recognition programs. No Scholarship Form Necessary. Online Scholarships continue throughout the spring with one $500 scholarship given away at random to a Phi Theta Kappa member who has enrolled in The Phi Theta Kappa Network. To become eligible for Online Scholarships, members must enroll at getconnected.ptk.org. One winner is announced each month in Phi Theta Kappa’s online weekly newsletter, the Golden Key News Briefs. The winner must claim the scholarship within days of the announcement. So it pays to read your Golden Key News Briefs!!
