Society alumna from Windward Community College in Kaneohe, Hawaii, Kim Char Meredith hit a musical high note in her career when she opened for Melissa Etheridge’s recent concert in Honolulu. “I was overwhelmed and grateful when I received the call to open for Melissa,” said Meredith. “She is one of my musical idols. It was a dream come true, and a privilege to be a part of the concert. “Meeting her was a pleasure — she is so down-to-earth,” said Meredith in describing her encounters with the rock star. Meredith formerly served as president of her Phi Theta Kappa chapter and president of the Pacific Region. Society constituents had the pleasure of hearing her perform during three general sessions at Phi Theta Kappa’s 2002 International Convention in Nashville.
