The Journey

June 1998

The Last Word

Mike Watson, Associate Director, Phi Theta Kappa

One of Phi Theta Kappa's most exciting events will be taking place in June, and I urge you, as chapter or regional officers, to make every effort to take advantage of this ultimate experience in scholarship and fellowship.

It's known as the Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Institute, and it takes place June 14-21, on the campus of The College of William and Mary in historic Williamsburg, Virginia.

The Institute experience is like none other, because there is really nothing else like it in all of higher education. Imagine, if you will, spending an entire week on the campus of a prestigious senior institution, in company with several hundred persons from all across the United States and abroad ... most of whom you will have never met before ... but when the week has ended, you will have forged friendships that will last a lifetime. Age discrepancies, geographic differences, economic backgrounds, even language barriers dissolve amidst these casual and relaxing days of academic and personal exploration. (More)
