In August Phi Theta Kappa Headquarters will mail Chapter Progress Reports to college presidents and all chapter advisors. The reports provide the campus and chapter leaders with critical information needed to measure and evaluate their chapter’s participation in programs compared to other chapters in their state. This is the second consecutive year Phi Theta Kappa has provided this information to college presidents and chapter advisors. Information included in the Chapter Progress Report is compiled from Chapter Annual Reports and membership reporting forms. The report also provides information concerning the chapters’ participation in the Honors Study Topic Program, Hallmark Awards Program, International Service Program, Five-Star Award Level, participation in the All-USA Academic Team Program, and at the International and Regional Conventions. “The development of the Chapter Progress Report is a response to requests by chapter advisors for Headquarters to help college presidents and administrators understand the level of institutional support that is necessary for chapters to engage in programs which benefit the college,” said Executive Director Rod A. Risley. “For chapters to engage in community and college service programs, develop scholarship and leadership programs, which benefit all students, and participate in leadership activities on regional and international levels, institutional support must be provided. The Progress Report reveals fully and completely those chapters in a region which engage in and benefit from programs and the level of support necessary to be successful.” For more information, contact Advisor Services Coordinator Kathy Bounds, ext. 522.
