College Project Focuses on Academic Success

The Sigma Phi Chapter at Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, Colorado, is spreading the word on their campus: SUCCESS - Get it at ACC! The Five Star chapter's College Project brought scholarship to the forefront with the distribution of original brochures providing new students with tips on improving reading skills, getting more out of lectures, improving test results and using resources available on the campus. The College Project is a requirement of Level Five in the Five Star Chapter Development Program.

Chapter president, All-USA Academic First Team member and 2003 Guistwhite Scholar Michael Bertolli reports, "We compiled information by soliciting input from Phi Theta Kappa members, other students and faculty members for tips on how to be a successful student. We distributed copies to the college counseling offices, central information desk, campus bookstore and directly to the students. This project was a huge success with the faculty, counselors and students. We have been asked to provide more for the upcoming year!"
