Winners Announced for Children's Creative Writing Contest International winners for Phi Theta Kappa's Children's Creative Writing Contest are second-grader Sierra Blake of Falls Church, Virginia, and third-grader Frankie Gomez of Ontario, Oregon. Runners-up are second-grader Hillary Begger of Miles City, Montana, and third-grader Ethan Chance Gibson of Hope, Arkansas. The four young people were among more than 100 second and third graders nationally who submitted illustrated written entries to complete the phrase My __________ in the New Millennium. The contest was sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa chapters as part of their participation in the America Reads Challenge International Service Program. The winning international entries were submitted by the Phi Theta Kappa chapters at Northern Virginia Community College, Annandale; Treasure Valley Community College, Ontario, Oregon; Miles Community College, Miles City, Montana; and the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. The two international winners, and representatives of the chapters that submitted their entries, were recognized on stage at Phi Theta Kappa's recent Convention of the Millennium in Orlando.
