Convention Attendance Exceeds 3,100

A total of 545 chapters were represented at Phi Theta Kappa's recent 83rd International Convention! Some 3,149 attendees - members, advisors, administrators, friends and alumni - gathered in Denver, Colorado, March 29-31, to "soar to the summit" for three days devoted to a celebration of the Hallmarks of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Fellowship. Twenty-six members returned home with scholarships valued from $250-$500, presented by Society corporate partners, whose presence was a Convention "first." Participating partners include XanEdu, Harris Publishing Company, MBNA, LocalWeb4U, Magic Video and JOBTRAK. A record number of children's books - approximately 1,200 - were brought to Denver by chapter representatives, for presentation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado, the agency selected to benefit from the annual Convention Service Project. Phi Theta Kappa's International Convention will be held at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, April 4-6. Find details on the 2001 International Convention.
