Ten members have been selected as Phi Theta Kappa’s first “Leaders of Promise” and will receive scholarships of $500 each to further their associate degree studies. Recipients were selected for their demonstrated leadership potential and scholastic achievement, based on applications submitted to Phi Theta Kappa International Headquarters. The scholarships are being awarded for the first time this year and mark Phi Theta Kappa’s first scholarships created to help fund associate degree studies. The 2001 Leaders of Promise are:
