Toys ‘R’ Us Invites Phi Theta Kappa Members to Participate in Halloween Days of Fun

Toys “R” Us, with more than 700 stores nationwide, has invited Phi Theta Kappa members to partner with them in a special children’s event that combines learning with fun! Toys “R” Us is celebrating “Three Days of Halloween Fun,” October 19-21, with special children’s activities in their stores from noon - 2:00 pm each day.

Phi Theta Kappa members are invited to serve as storytellers for this event. Chapters should contact their local Toys "R" Us store before October 15 to arrange their participation. This is a great way for members to get involved in the America’s Promise Service Program while logging hours for the Million Hour Promise!

Chapter members may be as creative as they wish in their participation - choosing books at the Toys “R” Us Store to read or performing a skit or puppet show appropriate for kids 8 and younger. Many children enjoy taking a book home with them after the reading event, so it is recommended that chapter members use at least one book available for purchase at the Toys “R” Us store.

Members are also encouraged to bring a sign or banner with them to the storytelling session to advertise Phi Theta Kappa’s involvement in this project.

For more information, contact the Store Director at your local Toys “R” Us Store or Phi Theta Kappa’s Director of Programs Jennifer Westbrook or 601.957.2241, ext. 532.
