Workshop/Speaker Topics for Regional Meetings
To ensure your regional meeting is time well spent for your participants, it's important to plan an effective program agenda.
The best place to start is by answering the following questions:
- What is the purpose of this regional meeting?
- What information is most important to share with members and advisors at this conference?
- What's new in Phi Theta Kappa? What is happening in the region?
- What topics are most helpful for community college students?
The purpose of any Phi Theta Kappa regional meeting is to provide participants with a deeper understanding as well as instructions on how to implement Phi Theta Kappa programs. If you're planning a Leadership Conference (normally held in the summer or fall), then your conference agenda should focus on helping chapters plan activities and share ideas for the academic year. If you're hosting a regional convention, the focus is generally on regional award presentations and regional officer elections.
Phi Theta Kappa's programming is built on the Society's four hallmarks - Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Fellowship. Let these be your guide as you plan your regional meeting agenda.
