Phi Theta Kappa: The Engaged Society, is a civic engagement initiative that promotes public responsibility and community betterment. "In reality, it is something that the Society has been doing for years," said Executive Director Rod A. Risley. "Phi Theta Kappa is the engaged honor society. We're not just focused on our own individual development. We hope that our collective talents will improve the stock of our diverse communities." Chapters are encouraged to implement projects that challenge scholars to become community leaders by participating in Voice Your Vote; Conquering Cancer, the International Service Program; the Community College Readership Program; the Peace Corps ; the Case Study Challenge; and Project Graduation.
