Danville, Illinois

  • Waived out-of-state tuition for displaced students

Dodge City Community College

  • 27 residence hall rooms available without charge

Highline Community College

  • Waived out-of-state tuition for displaced students

Honolulu Community College

Independence Community College
Independence, Kansas

  • Independence Community College is offering for students from the areas affected by Hurricane Katrina to attend school here at Independence Community College this fall. ICC will house 9 men and 5 women on campus, and would provide tuition, fees, use of books, and room and board at no charge during the fall semester.

Labette Community College
Parsons, Kansas

  • LCC will waive the cost of tuition, fees and books for up to eight full-time students for the Fall 2005 semester who were displaced. Transportation may also be provided to Parsons, if needed.

  • To provide additional support to displaced students, the College is looking for host families and other resources from the community to provide room and board. Labette Community College will accept students in all majors except nursing (this program is full).

Lenoir Community College

  • Lenoir Community College will offer free distance education to one displaced student.

  • Offering free distance education to any student who was displaced and who has paid full tuition at a community college or university in his/her state.

  • Offering in-state tuition to any student who can provide evidence of being displaced because of Katrina.

Mississippi

  • Any displaced student from LA or AL, is considered an "in-state" student for tuition purposes. No out of state fees to be paid, according to the State Board's Assistant to the Executive Director Jason Pugh.
