Membership Transfer Form

According to Chapter 1, Section 8, of Phi Theta Kappa's International Constitution, a member who changes his/her residence shall be eligible to transfer membership to the chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at the new college if the member meets the membership eligibility standards of that local chapter. The local chapter may use either their membership eligibility standard or maintenance standard when determining eligibility of Phi Theta Kappa members requesting to transfer membership into their chapter.The standard selected, however, must be used consistently and identified in the chapter's bylaws.

The chapter advisor requesting transfer must contact an advisor of the member's original chapter to verify the member was a "member in good standing" when he/she departed the original chapter.

The member transferring his/her local membership to a new chapter is required to remit local fees to the new chapter once the transfer has been confirmed by Headquarters. The member is not required to remit additional regional or international fees.

However, if the transferring member desires a new Phi Theta Kappa certificate which reflects his/her membership in the new chapter, he/she must remit $10.00 to cover postage and handling of the new certificate. Requests for certificates must be sent with a check payable to Phi Theta Kappa to:
