Support Phi Theta Kappa's hurricane relief effort today.

Hurricane Katrina is one of the worst natural disasters in U.S. history, devastating the Gulf Coast, battering towns and cities both large and small, and causing billions of dollars in damage. Hundreds of people have perished, and thousands more have been left homeless in its wake. As Hurricane Katrina leaves behind devastation in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi, your chapter and/or region can help support Phi Theta Kappa united campaign to directly benefit community college students severely affected by this disaster.

Members and alumni are encouraged to join together in this important cause by contributing now to Phi Theta Kappa's 2005 Hurricane Relief Fund. To make a financial contribution, donate directly to Phi Theta Kappa International Headquarters, c/o 2005 Hurricane Relief Fund, 1625 Eastover Drive, Jackson, MS 39211. More details about the Society's hurricane relief efforts will be made available soon at www.ptk.org and in future editions of the Golden Key News Briefs. Your contributions made payable to Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society and designated to the "2005 Hurricane Relief Fund" will ensure that funds are available to be released immediately once the needs of affected community college students are assessed. 100 percent of your donation will be directed to helping affected community college students rebuild their lives following this disaster.

"We want to mobilize immediately and provide significant assistance to the many community college students who find themselves in life threatening situations as a result of this natural disaster," International President Arthur Vargas said. Our goal is to collectively raise and contribute as much financial support as possible to directly aid our colleges and fellow students who are victims of this catastrophe. If you prefer to donate directly to general relief efforts for hurricane victims, Phi Theta Kappa recommends sending contributions to these listed agencies.
