Phi Theta Kappa’s 46^th Honors Institute has begun, and who better to welcome the hundreds of members, advisors and special guests to the historic city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, than two of the United States’ most prominent historical figures: Thomas Jefferson and Alexa

Phi Theta Kappa’s 2013-2014 International Officers have been selected. The winning candidates were announced during the Hallmark Awards Gala on Saturday, April 6, during the 2013 Annual Convention in San Jose, California.

JACKSON, MS – Sixty-five Phi Theta Kappa members from across the U.S. and the British Virgin Islands participated in the Inaugural Scholar Conference held January 19-23 in Washington, D.C.

Jackson, MS - Literary works from 13 Phi Theta Kappa members have been chosen from 809 entries for publication in the 2012 edition of Nota Bene, the Society's honors anthology. Authors of the four most outstanding entries received $3,000 in Nota Bene scholarships.

The Phi Theta Kappa Experience for alumna Jean Foster Akin has proven to be both rewarding and empowering, giving the 46-year-old the confidence she needed to finally pursue her dreams.

The 2012 Regional Officers of the Mississippi/Louisiana Region recently held their annual strategic planning meeting at the Phi Theta Kappa Headquarters in Jackson, Mississippi, discussing their goals for the upcoming year.

Each year, a barren "tree" made of brown twisted paper sprouts in the student center at the Northwest Campus of Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, Texas.

JACKSON, MS - Dr. E. Ann McGee, President of Seminole State College in Florida and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation Board of Trustees, received a 2012 Fulbright Community College Administrator Seminar Program Award that recently took her to Russia for meetings with higher education administrators to determine opportunities for partnerships with U.S. community colleges.

Jackson, MS – Twenty students have been named to the 22nd annual All-USA Community College Academic Team, honored for their outstanding intellectual achievement and leadership. Each team member will receive a $2,500 scholarship.
