Scholarships

A total of 62 Phi Theta Kappa members are among the 73 recipients of the 2013 Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarships, the nation's largest private scholarship program. They received a total of more than $1.8 million for completion of baccalaureate degrees.

Jackson, MS – Fifty community college students from the United States, Canada, and the Federated States of Micronesia have been named 2013 New Century Scholars – receiving a total of $100,000 in scholarships.

Jackson, Mississippi - Twenty Phi Theta Kappa members have been selected as 2013 Guistwhite Scholarship recipients and will be recognized and invited to a special reception during Phi Theta Kappa’s Annual Convention in San Jose, California, April 4-6.

Jackson, MS - Students and faculty members of Lone Star College-CyFair Campus in Texas have funded a scholarship endowment in honor of their former Phi Theta Kappa advisors, Susan and Jeff Edwards.

Jackson, MS –  This spring, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society will award more than half a million dollars in scholarships to community college students who will be completing their associate degrees or transferring to a four-year college.

Jackson, MS - Literary works from 13 Phi Theta Kappa members have been chosen from 809 entries for publication in the 2012 edition of Nota Bene, the Society's honors anthology. Authors of the four most outstanding entries received $3,000 in Nota Bene scholarships.

Jackson, MS – Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), with the generous support of CAE Healthcare and L-3 Communications, Inc., have awarded $50,000 in scholarships to the 2012 Frank Lanza Scholars.

JACKSON, MS - The Phi Theta Kappa Foundation has named former METI CEO Lou Oberndorf as a member of the Board of Trustees. The Foundation was created to direct the Society's fundraising and development programs.

Jackson, MS – Twenty students have been named to the 22nd annual All-USA Community College Academic Team, honored for their outstanding intellectual achievement and leadership. Each team member will receive a $2,500 scholarship.
