Boggs, Van Atter Elected to Board of Directors Offices

Jackson, Mississippi – Dr. George Boggs, President and CEO Emeritus of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), and Middle States Regional Coordinator Pattie Van Atter were elected as Chair and Vice Chair, respectively, of Phi Theta Kappa’s Board of Directors during the Board’s most recent meeting held in Jackson, Mississippi on January 23.

Jackson, MS – Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), with the generous support of CAE Healthcare and L-3 Communications, Inc., have awarded $50,000 in scholarships to the 2015 Frank Lanza Scholars. Twenty community college students were selected to receive up to $2,500 each for completion of associate degrees.

Jackson, Mississippi – Luiza Kinzerska-Martinez was inspired by the sacrifices her parents made to come to the United States from Nicaragua and Ukraine to obtain a college education. Now, she is well on her way to making her own college dreams come true as one of two 2015 recipients of Phi Theta Kappa’s $1,000 GEICO Pathway to Completion Associate Degree Scholarships.
