The focus of the community-based alumni association is to provide for college chapter active members the support and resources necessary to improve and increase opportunities for participation in Society programs. Additionally, alumni support ensures the existence of tradition and continuity in the active chapter.
Alumni working collectively may choose to provide support to the college or community which will further the positive image of Phi Theta Kappa and opportunities available to Phi Theta Kappa students. Additionally, alumni members, through their participation in the community-oriented alumni association, will receive the opportunity of continued fellowship with other Phi Theta Kappa members.

The focus of the regional alumni association is to provide the support and resources necessary for college chapter active members and their advisors to improve and increase opportunities for participation in Society programs on the local and regional level. Working collectively, regional alumni association members serve to enhance the Phi Theta Kappa membership experience within a broader spectrum than a college campus.
By providing support to the active chapters, advisors, region and/or coordinator, the regional alumni association ensures greater opportunities for scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship. In turn, the regional alumni member continues to experience the fellowship of working with others who have shared in the Phi Theta Kappa experience. Together they ensure a bright future for a new generation of scholars and leaders.

The focus of the senior institution-oriented alumni association is to provide programs and materials designed to ease members’ transfer from the college to the senior institution. Phi Theta Kappa members transferring to the senior institution find, through the alumni association, a ready-made “family” or circle of acquaintances to begin their lives at the senior institution. These alumni associations serve to aid the assimilation of transfer students within the senior institution environment.
By working with the Office of Admissions, alumni members may assist with the recruitment, orientation and retention of their fellow scholars. As high-achieving transfer students, the Phi Theta Kappa alumni on the senior institution campus may choose to develop programs which further the positive image of transfer students on the campus. Furthermore, members of the senior institution-oriented alumni association may choose to work in support of local college chapters of Phi Theta Kappa.
