The registration fee covers double lodging in a campus residence hall and all meals on campus, the Honors Institute program including speaker presentations, seminar group discussions, the Place-As-TextTM visit to Old Town, and the closing social.
Housing and Meal Cards
Housing and meal cards will be provided to all Honors Institute attendees staying on campus at housing check-in and conference
registration. It is important that each person issued housing and meal cards retain possession of them throughout their stay. Housing and Meal cards will need to be returned at the end of your stay.
Casual attire is appropriate for lectures and seminar group meetings, but no cut-off jeans, short shorts or athletic shorts or tops should
be worn. T-shirts with offensive language are not appropriate wear for the Institute.

The Honors Institute officially ends on Thursday night, June 13 following the final seminar meeting. All participants must check out of their dorm rooms by 11:00 am on Friday, June 14. Room check-out will be handled at the lobby desk. This desk is staffed 24/7.
Zero Tolerance Policy
The use of alcohol or illegal substances will not be tolerated during the Honors Institute on the campus of San Diego State University.
Institute participants found using these substances will be required to leave the Institute at their own expense and college officials may be notified of their expulsion.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside all campus residential buildings.
Personal and Property Safety
Neither Phi Theta Kappa nor San Diego State University can be responsible for the safety of any items left in the residence hall rooms or in any campus building. Neither Phi Theta Kappa nor San Diego State University can accept any responsibility for any mishap or incident
occurring off-campus or at any other time.
The Honors Institute is open only to Phi Theta Kappa members and advisors. Family members of participants cannot be accommodated in residence halls, at Institute meal functions, or at any Institute events.

Internet is complimentary campus wide. When you open your device to select a wireless network select SDSU_Guest After you select SDSU_Guest network, the screen will pop up for wireless registration.

Everyone will be provided double towels and washcloths in the pre-packaged pack. In the case of an emergency that requires new
linens, participants can request them at the Information Desk located in the lobby of your dorm.
Washers and dryers are available in SCP (South Campus Plaza) both north and south. The machines are card operated. Cards are available for check out in the Conference Services Office, located in Cuicacalli, under The Garden. The card must be returned to the
Conference Services Office. There is a $50.00 fee for cards not returned.
Laundry Cards can be loaded at Aztec Markets, which are all over campus. The closest one would be in Cuicacalli or the Student Union which is about a 5-10 minute walk from SCP. You can also load money onto the card through the following link: https://get.cbord.com/sdsu/full/login.php, but there is a $10.00 minimum. Any money that is loaded onto the card is not refundable. A washer cycle is $1.50 and drying is $1.00.

Food Venues on Campus

There is a $50.00 charge for lost or unreturned keys and/or tap cards upon check-out.
If you lock your room keys in your room, there is a $25.00 lock-out assistance fee.Contact the Information Desk located in the lobby of your dorm.
Each residence hall is provided trash and recycling chutes on each floor, and Honors Institute participants are expected to place all trash in the designated areas. At the end of your stay dispose of your trash in the trash chutes. Do not leave your trash in your dorm
Lost and Found
Lost and found items should be turned in at the Phi Theta Kappa office located on the second floor of South Campus Apartments.
Chapter Advisor/Regional Coordinator Dinner
Chapter advisors are invited to a special dinner, to be held Tuesday, June 11, at 5:00 – 6:30 pm at Tula Community Center. All advisors are encouraged to attend this dinner to network with other advisors.
On Thursday, June 13, all participants are invited to a Farewell Social from 8:00-9:30 pm in Tula Community Center. This is an opportunity to bid farewell to Phi Theta Kappa friends old and new.
