Honors in Action is the driving force behind what we do as an honor society. Our programs support our purpose of sharing honors through action by equipping members and chapters with the skills and resources necessary to implement a successful Honors in Action Project. Consider the programs listed below as integral parts of your chapter’s plan for Honor in Action.
Phi Theta Kappa's Leadership Development Studies offers lessons on key leadership skills used in Honors in Action - building teams, setting goals, delegating, guiding through conflict, making decisions, just to name a few.
Chapters, follow the Five Star Plan to build your membership base, gain administrative support and engage in Honors in Action. The plan is designed to help chapters organize their participation and receive local, regional and international recognition for their efforts.
Members, get credit for the skill-building activities you're doing through Honors in Action with this online professional development plan. Watch instructional videos (Overcoming Math Anxiety, Professional Etiquette, Making Great Presentations and Identifying Suspicious Sources on the Internet are a few examples) and build an online portfolio.
What better way to reflect on a project well done than to submit it for the Honors in Action Project Award in the Society's most prestigious awards competition? Other categories offer recognition for chapters' College Projects (see Level Three of the Five Star Plan), and individual awards recognize members, officers, advisors and even college administrators.
