The Richard L. Resurreccion Public Safety Scholarship recognizes Phi Theta Kappa members who demonstrate potential for or involvement in public safety or service while enrolled in a regionally accredited associate degree public safety program. The program awards up to two scholarships of $1,000 each, a total of $2,000 in scholarships annually.
Members may begin applying for this scholarship in March and applications are due in May each year. The scholarship selection shall be made by the International Public Safety Leadership and Ethics Institute (IPSLEI). Students selected as Resurreccion Public Safety Scholars are notified in August/September each year.
The International Public Safety Leadership and Ethics Institute has partnered with Phi Theta Kappa to establish an endowment for the Richard L. Resurreccion Public Safety Scholarship. This scholarship honors Richard L. Resurrecion, a member of the Board of Directors of the International Public Safety Leadership and Ethics Institute who is widely known for his expertise in the areas of life safety, technology and emergency management.
