Joseph has always been an artistic person, but after dropping out of local university where they were pursuing creative writing to care for their father, Joseph never really thought they could have a professional art career or return to college. However, after Joseph’s dad passed, they knew they had to act, so they reenrolled in community college to pursue a degree in graphic design. At the college, Joseph blossomed. They built relationships with the college’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Marketing departments, where they interned in the spring. They hope the internships result in long-term, salaried positions down the road.
