The Duke, a grandson of King George V, visited the college during his five-day stay in the British Virgin Islands to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of his first cousin, Queen Elizabeth.

Esteban and other members of the Beta Omicron Sigma Chapter met with the Duke and told him about the mission and goals of Phi Theta Kappa. The Duke viewed a display of Society materials, including the Golden Key membership pin, commencement regalia and the Honors Program Guide.

Esteban serves as Phi Theta Kappa International Vice President for Division II. He is the first Phi Theta Kappa member from the British Virgin Islands to hold international office. The Beta Omicron Sigma Chapter was chartered in 2006.

Boyd McCleary, Governor of the British Virgin Islands, and other dignitaries accompanied the Duke on his tour of H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.

At the request of the Queen, members of the Royal Family are traveling overseas to visit every realm as well as British Commonwealth countries, Crown Dependencies and British Overseas Territories on her behalf. The Diamond Jubilee marks the 60th year of Queen Elizabeth’s reign.
