1,000 PTK Members Receive Free Cengage Unlimited Subscriptions

September 6, 2018

One thousand Phi Theta Kappa members will receive a free semester of Cengage Unlimited, a new subscription service for online college course materials, through a partnership with Cengage and PTK that seeks to remove barriers and increase access to learning.

Cengage Unlimited is a first-of-its-kind subscription service giving students access to digital higher education materials — more than 22,000 products across 70 disciplines and 675 courses — for a flat fee each semester. The free subscriptions have been given to current PTK members and to alumni still enrolled in college and are to be used in the 2018/2019 academic year.

“Aside from tuition, textbooks are the top source of financial stress for students, and we’re committed to doing our part to make quality materials accessible to students,” said Michael Hansen, CEO, Cengage. “I was honored to participate in PTK’s annual meeting and provide these dedicated students access to Cengage Unlimited, and ease their financial pressure.

“With our new all-access subscription, we are changing the way students access learning materials, and we are excited about the impact this will have on their futures.”

“Phi Theta Kappa members are certainly high-achieving, but they face the same financial struggles other college students face,” said Dr. Monica Marlowe, executive director of the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation. “We are grateful that Cengage recognizes this need, and we appreciate their investment in the success of this deserving students.”
