Tell us about your college’s new transfer scholarship for members of Phi Theta Kappa.

The University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC) is excited to offer Phi Theta Kappa members, with an earned associate degree, up to $6,450 in annual tuition savings towards a bachelor’s degree at UAGC. Additional tuition benefits are available for those pursuing master’s or doctoral degrees.
Additionally, Phi Theta Kappa advisors, employees, and employees’ immediate family members are eligible for these cost savings!

Why does your college feel that it is important to offer a scholarship opportunity for members?

The mission of the University of Arizona Global Campus is to provide high-quality, accessible, affordable, and innovative educational programs that meet the diverse needs of individuals pursuing advancement in their lives, professions and communities. PTK members have proven that they value higher education and UAGC wants to make advancing their education as accessible as possible for members, employees (and their immediate family members), as well as volunteer chapter PTK Advisors.

What other opportunities are available for transfer students at your institution to assist them in successfully transitioning from a community college?

The generous UAGC transfer policy allows students to apply up to 90 approved transfer credits towards a bachelor’s degree (subject to UAGC’s transfer credit policies), saving them time and money. Our Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) has determined that successful completion of the PTK Edge program and Leadership Development Studies program qualify for UAGC PLA credits. Students will follow the Sponsored Professional Training option to pursue these credits.

UAGC is proud to have an active PTK Chapter, Beta Tau Chi, for all members and alumni attending UAGC. PTK offers students support, guidance, and opportunities above and beyond the normal college experience. PTK alumni will receive support from application to graduation with dedicated enrollment coaches and academic advisors to assist them throughout their journey, seven days a week, and 24/7 access to the UAGC online Writing Center and Library.

In your opinion, what is one of the most impressive things about your college?

UAGC is all about making education accessible to adults to help them achieve their educational goals. UAGC provides adult learners with flexibility, support, and a community to achieve the goals that will help them reach their fullest potential. Our faculty bring rich, diverse expertise from their respective professions – and combined with a relevant, student-centered curriculum – drive student success. Our flexible and convenient online platform coupled with a full suite of resources provides adult learners the ability to balance school and life while pursuing their dreams. Students are here for a better tomorrow.

Are there any special events or deadlines on your recruitment calendar that you would like to share?

UAGC offers weekly start dates throughout the year (based on program selection). We observe a two-week holiday break during the New Year period.
