Keziah Ancheta, from Waipahu High School Early College in Hawai’i, and Dayriana Sanders, from Arapahoe Community College in Colorado, have been named Student Representatives to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) Board of Directors.
A dually enrolled student, Keziah is a senior in high school and will graduate with her Associate in Arts Degree with a certificate in Business Management from Leeward Community College in Spring 2023.
Keziah serves as a mayoral appointee for the Honolulu Youth Commission and a Hawai’i representative for the Global Networking Gathering for the Next Generation (3-G project). She is also a former WHS representative for the Hawai’i State Student Council. A proud member of her school’s PTK Beta Chi Omega Chapter, Keziah served as the 2021-2022 PTK Pacific Region President. In April 2022, she was elected to serve as Phi Theta Kappa’s 2022-23 International Co-president alongside Dayriana Sanders.
Sanders is currently pursuing an Associate of Arts Degree in Philosophy at Arapahoe Community College. She believes that an understanding of philosophy will complement the Associate of Science Degree in Nursing she currently holds and further prepare her to excel in a nursing career.
Passionate about bringing awareness to healthcare equity gaps and strategizing with other healthcare professionals on how to address closing gaps in the quality of care, Sanders has spearheaded and moderated panels focusing on various healthcare disparities.
Dayriana received ACC’s 2020-2021 Inclusive Excellence Champion, 2020-2021 Service Learning Excellence, 2021-2022 Rising Star, and the 2021-2022 Student of the Year awards. Sanders was named to the 2022 All-Colorado Academic Team and the 2022 Coca-Cola Academic Team as a Silver Scholar.
