Campus and Community Service
PTK offers members a variety of ways to get involved on campus, with college leadership, and with the larger community. Local chapters often host service projects and find other ways to contribute to the community. Check with your local chapter to find out what events and service projects are happening on your campus.
PTK has created programming to support this type of service called College Project.
The College Project is designed to help your chapter build and nurture a supportive working relationship with your college administration. Administrative support is essential for all active Phi Theta Kappa chapters — funding their travel, granting access to campus resources, and celebrating in person the chapter’s inductions. This is program is an opportunity to collaborate with the college to identify what it needs to support its mission. The College Project can be anything that benefits the college and is approved by the college administration. It’s a real-world way your chapter can support your college’s mission.
Change Makers: Phi Theta Kappa Journal of Student Leadership features the best College Projects submitted each year for publication. It highlights the innovative and impactful work of community college students collaborating with their college administrators to implement projects that support the mission of their colleges and generate positive changes on their campuses.
